The Last King of Nepal is a two-part documentary about the recent situation in Nepal, the massacre of 2001 and the last days of the monarchy in 2008, following the revolution in 2006. But, is it all over for the King? Is a constitutional or ceremonial monarchy a tradition the should be reinstated? Are modern monarchies obsolete or do they keep the powers-at-be in check and represent a historical tradition that citizens can be proud of?
This is the original score for the sizzle reel, presenting an overview of what the documentary would look like. Composed by Seb Morgan using a local Nepalese jaw (or Jew) harp as a rhythmic foundation for the rest of the orchestration to sit on. It is offered as a free download on this site, in case you’re interested in the process leading to a lengthier score to come.
Thank you!
